OR-W-IR-200E-PET Wireless Pet-Friendly PIR Detector
The Orisec W-IR-200E-PET is a high-performance wireless passive infrared (PIR) detector designed specifically for environments with pets. Based on the reliable OR-W-IR-200E platform, this pet-friendly variant introduces dedicated pet immunity to prevent false alarms caused by animals weighing up to 35kg, making it ideal for both residential and commercial installations.
This detector delivers a wide 15-metre by 90-degree coverage area, allowing for comprehensive protection of large spaces such as living rooms, hallways, offices, and retail units. It features flexible mounting heights between 2.0m and 2.2m, ensuring optimal performance while maintaining its pet immunity function. The sealed optics and advanced dual-technology detection (PIR and microwave) ensure consistent performance and protection against false triggers caused by environmental changes or pet movement.
The W-IR-200E-PET communicates via Orisec’s secure two-way wireless protocol with frequency hopping, providing stable, interference-resistant connectivity with the alarm control panel. This ensures all detection signals are transmitted reliably in real-time, even in wireless-dense environments.
Advanced signal processing features include digital pulse counting, temperature compensation, and a true battery level reading. These enhancements minimise false alarms and improve accuracy. The detector is powered by a CR123A lithium battery, with a typical life span of over two years, reducing the need for frequent maintenance. A built-in digital thermometer further supports environmental monitoring and system diagnostics.
Installation is straightforward with installer-friendly features such as a slide-on front cover, optional tamper-proof bracket, and selectable EOL resistors. The unit is also EN 50131 Grade 2 compliant, making it suitable for medium-risk security applications.
