People commonly ask how far they can run Power over Ethernet. The answer is 100 meters from the PoE switch or hub to the PoE dependent device, regardless of where the power is injected. The limitation is not the power. It’s the Ethernet cabling standards that limit the total length of cabling to 100 meters.
There are however some devices that will allow PoE to be provided to a device over the 100m limitation.
The UNV range of NVR units can provide PoE up to 300m when Extended Transmission is enabled. To enable Extended Transmission, open up the Main Menu, click Camera, select the camera you wish to enable Extended Transmission with, click Configure and finally Tick the Extended Transmission box and save.
Finally Videplus’ VP-EO2C-POE Single Port PoE Ethernet Extender is a high-speed Ethernet transmission device. It can transmit Ethernet and Power signals together for PoE devices. It transmits data network signals up to 1000 metres over any pair of copper conductors. Such as CAT5e, CAT6, coaxial cable.
Upgrading a NVR’s firmware from the EZ View App could not be simpler! First open your EZ View App, tap the main menu, tap on the devices tab, refresh the list of devices by scrolling your finger down the screen, and a red dot will appear on any device that has a firmware upgrade available. Tap on that device, tap on P2P Upgrade and tap Start Upgrade!

This guide and video below will show you how to share a Device using EZview.
First, open the EZview app on your device, login with your details and check the live view.
There are two methods to share your device with the EZview.
Method one: Share device with an EZcloud Account
Tap on the “Devices” tab and tap on the device you wish to share, then on the next screen tap “Share”. You will now input the username of the account you wish to share to, or the email address that account is linked to. You can also set how long the device will be shared for and the permissions of the account. Once you’ve selected the sharing time and permissions, tap the “Share” button below these settings. You can now login with the account details the device has been shared to. Check the “devices” tab to make sure the device has been successfully shared to that account, and then check the live view to make sure you’re getting live video feed.
Method two: Share device with the QR code
Tap on the “Devices” tab and tap on the device you wish to share. Tap “Share” on the next screen, and tap “QR Code” on the following screen. Input a sharing password that you will remember, and tap the “Generate” button. Now you can share the QR Code by Email, Skype, WhatsApp etc. Now you can login into the account the device will be shared to, tap on the “Devices” tab, then tap on the “+” symbol in the top right hand corner of the screen, tap “Scan”, and scan the QR Code on the following screen. Once the QR Code has been scanned you will need to enter the sharing password you generated earlier. Once entered tap “OK” and check the “Devices” tab to make sure the device has been successfully added. Finally check the live view to make sure you’re getting live video feed.
